This is brilliant! I’ve been dealing with over 1,000 a day and I diligently go through them ALL every day to make sure I didn’t miss a real comment. That equates to 20 minutes a day I will never get back and I do it because I don’t want to miss anyone real. I just loaded this and am hoping for some good results. You are a life saver! Hugs, Holly

SO Glad I found you Holly. There must be so many other bloggers out there wasting their time with this nonsense every day. Was driving me crazy. I don’t like to keep on adding lots of plugins to my site, but this one really does earn its place there. You should notice a big improvement very quickly, and you’ll get a little table at the bottom of the settings to show you how many times the IP address tried to get in so you can see it working.

Good grief! When do bloggers have time to blog or create when all this awful behind the scenes stuff is going on? Thank you for the heads up. I will install that plug in right away when I finally have my blog up and running to be ready for any spammers out there 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing your frustrations. Makes me feel I’m not the only one who wants to kick the screen in sometimes. Great info on the plug in. I have my comments set to moderate. Blog is small and I don’t get many but helpnme keep in top of the awful spammers

Thank you for this tip. I will use it tonight. So tired of the spam! My Akismet hasn’t been catching it all lately – so frustrating!

I just went through and banned about 20 spammers. I’m hoping it will slow down now that I have this plug-in. This has been so helpful, thanks so much! No more geese, uggs, sunglasses and purses! Wahoo!

This isn’t going to work on Blogger, probably, right Deby?

No, I’m sorry Linda. This is a plugin that only works on WordPress sites. Perhaps its time to make the move!

Interesting. I had not heard of this one. I use askimet and it separates all my spam and has only missed 2 in the las year! Thanks for linking up to the all things pretty party.

Thank you! I get thousands of spam comments every day (and have for years!) and it never once dawned on me to ban certain I.P. addresses. What a fool I’ve been. 🙂 (Louis Vuitton spam is what I constantly get. I have no idea why.)

You’ll soon sort it out with this option Nancy.
