Darn I’m in a hurry this month. Summer has arrived here in the Caribbean and it’s scorching.  Too hot to stay indoors in a house without air-conditioning so I’ve been enjoying lots of outdoors time in the last few weeks, on the water and under the water.  Hence, I’m a little behind and this is just a quick figures update with not much of note to chat about this time round.

Things of note during July:

ShareASale – the big merchant I work with ‘took all of our feedback on board’ but will still be reducing their cookie from 30 days to 24 hours (not even the 1 day they promised previously.) This comes into effect at the start of August so I can expect to see a big drop in earnings as a result.  I can’t complain, I’ve had it good for a long time.  But I will miss the extra money – those medical bills aren’t going to pay themselves!

Blogger To WordPress – the domain name and hosting account on this site expired and I retained the domain name just in case for the future, but let the site go.

There were two big disappointments here – the change in policy at the hosting company I used which meant I could no longer pay for client accounts with my personal paypal account so they had to pay upfront and I had the payment to refund them – which turned everyone off and customers for the free website offer just disappeared overnight.   Then the big investment in time I put into creating the Blogger to WordPress e-course which everyone said they really wanted, and then it only sold a handful of times.  If I come back to this project in the future, I’ll have to think of other ways to use the site to make money or get customers.

Sewing pattern sales – a record month for sewing pattern sales thanks to the Flirty Skirty which flew off the shelves!

Expectations for August

I’ll still be enjoying time away from the computer and in the water and on the beach instead.  I love that having an online job means I can take time off whenever I like!

However the change in the cookie with the ShareASale merchant comes into play at the beginning of August so the good days could be over  – need to think of new ideas, promote harder, get more visitors and work on more sewing patterns.
